FROM OUTLAWS TO UTHORITIES. How ANC rose and it has ruled

From May 1910 The Union of South Africa act established a united  South Africa as a British dominion but reserve political rights fro whites.  January. 08, 1912. The South  African Native National Congress SANNC later shortened as African Nationa Congress or ANC is founded by black people in south african townships of Waaihoek, Bloemfontein, to fight for the blacks in the township.

JUNE 4, 1948 The Pro Afrikaaner National Party is elected nad begins instituting apartheid in South Africa


March 21 1960. Police shoot 69 black protesters dead at Sharpville out side Johannesburg comparison of Americans Prostesters occupy the Wall Street some the police sprayed a teargas on thier eyes while they were lying on the ground on the 8 November 2011.

June 1961  at Nelson Mandela's urging the ANC decided to launch an armed struggle.

JUNE 12, 1964. Mandela and other ANC leaders are jailed for  life. They are transfered to Robben Island of Cape Town.

September 12, 1977  Activist Stephen Biko dies in the police custody, becoming a martyr to the antiarpartheid movement, which had begun to destabilize white rule since the Soweto uprisings in  June.

March 1980  The  ANC personalise its campaign  around Mandela and slogan "free Nelson Mandela"
